Before joining the UKZN, He worked as a Business Coach for Bio-Regional South Africa – an NPO involved in community development by supporting and developing small businesses in South Africa. In June 2014, Dr. Nyawo joined the Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (KZN) as a Development Facilitator. He assisted in facilitating the implementation of social development interventions and ensured the linkages between the traditional institutions and municipalities concerning IDPs. Dr. Nyawo is involved in teaching the undergraduate level, supervising the Honours, Masters & Doctoral students.
