Biography

Dr Lungile Ntombela is a lecturer in the discipline of Human resource management and Industrial relations. Prior to joining academia in 2014, Dr Ntombela was employed as a Human Resource Development consultant at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Her research interests are in Gender and sexualities, human resource management and Industrial relations hence the research focus of her PhD was on the workplace experiences of sexual and gender “non-normative “employees in the KwaZulu-Natal region.

Dr Ntombela has seven years supervision experience and has successfully graduated full-time and course work masters students. She reviews articles and book chapters from the Journal of contemporary management and the IGI global publisher and also externally examines modules, assessments and theses in a variety of Universities in South Africa, including the Durban University of Technology, North-west University and the University of Johannesburg.

In 2020, Dr Ntombela had the privilege of being hosted as a visiting scholar at the prestigious Columbia University, New York – an experience which continues to inform the way she teaches and approaches academia as a whole.

She is currently working on a few academic papers with international and local journals.
